Community Reporters Brighton & Hove are looking for people...
Community Reporters Brighton & Hove is looking for people to help report and promote the Brighton & Hove Learning Festival 2010, which is running a variety of free or low cost events from January to March 2010.
You can help us out by:
- Taking an event assignment as a reporter: you can write a review, take photos or any other way you can think of to cover the event - see the brochure for events & let us know you're covering it
- Spreading the word about the Festival: via your Facebook, Twitter, Blogger, Wordpress or old fashioned emailing the brochure to your friends
- Our hash tags for the event are: #bhcr #communityreporters #learnstuff
If your skills are a bit rusty, come along to our free taster training sessions
We are hosting a community reporter event featuring speakers Judith Townend from journalism.co.uk and Jo Wadsworth, Web Editor at the Argus. It's Thursday 11 February, 6-9pm @ Community Base, 113 Queens Road, Brighton in the Conference Room. RSVP http://communityreporters.eventbrite.com/.
Community Reporters Brighton & Hove is brought to you by SCIP, Friends Centre, Working Together Project, Brighton & Hove Learning Partnership, in association with the Argus and BBC and Peoples Voice Media in Manchester.

Survey request
"I'm one of the Brighton bloggers (at IslingwordStreet.com) but also work with a small non-profit called the Democratic Society. We exist to promote participation and democracy, and are going to be holding a discussion event in Brighton in the next couple of months. The topic of the discussion is not decided yet, there's a survey at
http://www.surveymonkey.com/s.aspx?sm=gQVcBe50yfQUF2xvKFBVzA_3d_3d
which will help us decide what people would be interested in hearing about.
Would it be possible to make a mention of this survey on the Brighton Bloggers site, so we can get some views from the local blogosphere?"
So, here it is...

Rocks - Request for bloggers
I was wondering if you could help me: I’m looking for people to blog on the Rocks website and I’m having a hard time finding anyone. I want people who are doing interesting projects, involved with well known groups or can talk about life in Brighton. Is there any chance you could post that I am searching for people on Brighton Bloggers? Or do you know anyone who could blog on the site?
I'm going to point Sarah at this blog entry, so if you're interested, add a comment and I hope she'll spot it and follow up on it.

blogging for rocks
I shall wave a tentative hand. I'm not the world's most prolific blogger but I can do joined up writing and everything.
I'm part harrassed mummy to a toddler and part arty creative type and I know lots of geeks - but I'm not sure I am one ...
